Night Vision | A collaboration with Beit Avi Chai
“Night Vision” is a series of short movies produced by Beit Avi Chai, of artists sharing the darkness that descended upon them on October 7, and the attempt to find light and anchor points using art, music and writing. Each short movie delves into a personal story of facing the darkness, asking to recognize new outlines or understandings that are given to us only in the dark.
I wrote this short text on Oct 15 2023, sitting in front of a house that was not my own, wearing clothes that did not belong to me, uprooted, shaken, lost and in searing emotinal pain, one week after my life and world went up in flames, escaping death by a series of tiny coincedences. This was the first crystal clear moment I had after, and in many ways the deepest and truest understanding I ever had in my lifetime. A once in a lifetime moment of clarity, about this thing called life and the world we belong to.
This is the first movie in the new series.
